Tanzania in February – Green Season

February is the second month of the short dry season, the most popular month in Tanzania, and safari holidays mark the middle of the green season. February is the warmest month of the year and is the time of plenty and many animals – many herbivores are calving, and plenty of migratory birds. 

The Landscapes are still beautifully green following the short rains of November – December. So, there are lots of newborn animals running around – and a lot of predator action too

Serengeti National Park

The best time of the year to see the calving of the wildebeest is in the plain area of Ndutu which stands between Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro crater. This is one of the most events to see the adventures and more actions from predators like lions, cheetah, and leopards on hunting.

Zanzibar Island

Zanzibar is particularly dry, and music fans can head to the idyllic island for the Swahili music festival, Sauti za Busara, which takes place in Stone Town.

Ngorongoro Crater

Going to the crater floor for the game drive – this is the coolest month of the year to view most of the animals inside the crater floor. Also, you can add more days for game drives around the Ndutu area to witness the great migration.

Lake Natron

Lake Natron offers the best nature waking adventure as well as beautiful landscape there are vast flocks of flamingos, greater and lesser, at Lake Natron

Tarangire National Park

It is home to thousands of Majestic elephants, plains of ancient baobab trees, and land to some of Tanzania’s most iconic animals.
